When you go outside, you can already see and smell the changes of fall are in the air. This season is kicking off to a great start, as I begin the new Kids Art K-2 Fall classes in after school enrichment programs at a few local elementary schools. There’s more fun things around the corner for all of my fans. I’m one of the few selected as a local Artist in the Whatcom Artist Studio Tour for this year!

You won’t want to miss the October Art Walk and the WAST Art Exhibit, Oct. 6th, 7th, 8th, 14th & 15th. We’ll enjoy good conversation, watch how the artist makes their work in the studio, look at the art on display in the gallery, and find new original works of Rachel’s Whimsical Art!

When & Where: Art Walk on Friday, October 6th, 6-9pm, at The FAB Studios, #201 Gallery, 314 East Holly Street, Bellingham, WA, 98225. WAST: Oct. 6th, 7th, 8th, 14th & 15th  @the FAB studios. Everyone is welcome to join and visit the WAST, along with a guest artist Suzannah Gusukuma, that's a part of the Whatcom Artist Studio Tour. Find out more about WAST, the map of artist studios, and more here: https://www.studiotour.net/
You will be able to see Rachel Simpson’s original mixed-media art in the art show, and find Magical Woodland Globes, art prints, cards, stickers, magnets, surprise art kits, mini-paintings, jewelry, sparkling forest growth, interactive art, winged animals, UV-lights glowing art, the Transcendence Phoenix, kids magical wands, and some fun mermaid or fairy headpieces to wear! http://rachelsimpsonart.com

Art Workshops for Fall!
Glowing Wooden Earrings @Jansen Art Center

1 Day Workshop with
Rachel Simpson,  Saturday, Oct. 28th  2023, 1:00–4:00pm

In this brilliantly bright art class, students   will learn how to personalize their very own set of earrings. The instructor will demonstrate how to create and paint the earrings. Students will dream up their designs and use wooden circles or ovals as the base of the earrings. The earrings will be painted in the pointillism style. Pointillism is a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots or strokes of color are applied to a surface to form an image. Students will then draw and paint their designs onto the earrings. We will use special inks and neon-colored paints to really make those earrings GLOW! Students will leave class with their very own pair of hand-painted earrings, or the earrings can be worn separately as necklaces.

Art class for your child artist and a parent/adult family member can enjoy this exciting art class together! In this fun art class, Miss Rachel Simpson will guide you to explore various painting and collage art techniques, to create one mixed-media Animal portrait on canvas board. Animals can be one of the following: cat, dog, owl, or hawk. We will learn and express ourselves in many fun ways to make abstract paintings on thick papers, then we’ll mix and match them to make a collage, try different art mediums, and learn how to draw animal faces, with a close-up view, showing off their big, adorable eyes.
