In this letter, I’ll be sharing with you the great news of some upcoming events, art classes for both kids and adults. Things are in full swing with the beginning of November upon us, the weather changes, and the end of the mad rush of our kids doing costumes. Hopefully, we’re left with plenty of sweets, or sweet memories.

This Friday I’ll be going to the Artwalk in downtown Bellingham, & there will be all kinds of artists work on display at various locations, such as Allied Arts of Whatcom County, Make Shift, and Hotel Bellweather. While I don’t have any of my art at this Artwalk, I do have some of my mixed-media paintings up on exhibit at a new gallery called Stoneycreek Glassware on their Grand Opening this Saturday, November 1st , 10:00 am -5:00 pm, at 4833 Guide Meridian, Bellingham WA. All are welcome, and you can read about their grand opening in the link: https://www.facebook.com/events/226396481113692/

Mixed-Media Masks Class at BAAY this December 28th-30th, 3:00 – 5:00 pm for kids ages 10-16 (ages can be flexible). In this winter break art class, we'll imagine that we are in a warm tropical place with palm trees, wild birds singing, and sandy beaches. To inspire our imagination, we’ll learn about the French post-Impressionist artist Paul Gauguin, the location of Tahiti, and a brief history of Tikis. Tiki masks actually have a long, rich history in Polynesian culture. The Tiki masks were originally hand-carved wooden masks that were used to symbolize deities, give protection, and increase luck. We'll create our own colorful and textured papers with paints with a variety of brushes, and different items to make texture, in mixed-media format, then use the painted papers to create our Tiki masks. Contact BAAY to register: 360-306-8531 or online with www.baay.org. Event page with details: https://www.facebook.com/events/1016708711808033/
