Rachel’s Whimsical Art Newsletter

“Creativity is contagious, pass it on.” Albert Einstein
The end of summer is just a whisper on our heels, as we’ve begun to prepare for all of the things in autumn. Some of us have school, or our children have the new school year, and others are just getting back into the swing of things on their busy lives. We’ve all seen the colors begin to change in the leaves, even if the weather is still warm. I’ve been preparing for the upcoming fall art classes at Allied Arts of Whatcom County with their AAEP program for kids art, at BAAY EduArts, and at Whatcom Community College for community art ed classes. We’ve all got a busy time ahead, with many things to be creative and full of joy!

Bellingham Sea Feast this September 23rd!

I’ll be one of many artists with a booth for your enjoyment and thrill of art. Both myself, Rachel’s Whimsical Art, and Pans Whimsy will have a shared booth. There will be mermaid & sea themed paintings, mixed-media, sculptures, among other art! Wait, there’s more…15% of all of our proceeds will be donated to the Marine Life Center ( www.marinelifecenter.org ), to further local education and rehabilitation of the Salish Sea!

You can see one of pieces of sea themed art that I’ve been working on for this exciting event both here in this article and on the art portfolio page. Visit Bellinghamseafeast.com for a full list of events!

BAAY EduArts this Fall

Do you have a child in a local elementary in Bellingham or Whatcom County who loves art? I’m planning some great kid’s art projects beginning this fall session for the new school year, and at various elementary schools in Bellingham, such as Carl Cozier, Columbia, and at Silver Beach. I’m looking forward to seeing both new and familiar kid’s faces at the future fall art classes. If you’re interested in learning more about the EduArts program, art classes, or want to see if your school participates, feel free to contact http://www.baay.org/

Thank you for all your enthusiasm for The Arts and keeping it alive within our community!
