It’s the holiday season… (which makes me thing of so many songs, stories, & movies), and the start of the winter season this month. I’m loving every moment I get to be able to teach the kids at the Franklin Academy, while we work on clay projects this month. The after school arts enrichment programs for Kids Art have ended for the fall session with many happy kids on our last day of fun art games, Art Show-and-Tell, & a photo booth. Good news is that the Kids Art Winter classes are open for registration on 6Crickets for a few different local elementary schools in Bellingham, that begin again in January. If you’ve kids doing art, you may recall last winter break I did a fun Wizards in Winter Wonderland Kids Art Camp, but this year isn’t one that I could make happen, so you’ll have to wait until Summer Kids Art Camp. I’ll be sharing more info after the new year, so keep your eyes open for it on social media, email, and this monthly newsletter.

How many of us are crazy busy, getting things ready for family visits, gift giving, decorations, cooking, and prepping for our vacations during winter break? It’s that time of year, and I can relate to this, as many of us are in similar places. Just last Friday was the December Art Walk, and it was plenty busy with shoppers, art fans, & the community out buying local. It definitely put me in a mind of holiday cheer, to see those supporting our local artists.

Speaking of holiday cheer and shopping… if you’re still looking to buy local, you can take a peek at my new & improved Etsy Shop (and come into my shared studio – Imagine It Now. Details are below.), for art prints, cards, & glowing earrings: https://www.etsy.com/shop/RachelsWhimsicalArts

All are welcome to stop by the Imagine it Now Studio, Monday-Friday, between 1-6pm for holiday shopping in B’ham! There, you can see my Marine-life Art that glows under uv-light, paintings on canvas such as the latest Song of the Humpback Whale, along with many things for sale: like prints, cards, stickers, jewelry, kids wands and crowns, and more! We are located at the Imagine It Now studio, 301 W Holly Street, D-5 (downstairs), Bellingham, WA 98225. Also, we are open for the monthly Bellingham Downtown Art Walk, which is the first Friday of the month, 6-9pm.

Art Education & More!

In case you didn’t know, I teach art education K-12 at a few different elementary schools, for after school enrichment in Whatcom County, and the Bellingham School District as an independent contractor, as well as do fun summer art camps, private art lessons, parties/events, private lessons, present and teach at museums/galleries, and a Teaching Artist/Board Member with Allied Arts of Whatcom County. This non-profit is one that brings the arts to many kids throughout the schools, and I’m so thankful I can be a part of it and this community.

Additionally,  you can find out more about all the fun art events, my art work, art exhibits, and art classes on my website and Instagram/Facebook pages: Rachel’s Whimsical Art.

Thank you for all your enthusiasm for The Arts and keeping it alive within our community!
