This is one of my favorite times of the year, when the air is crisp, the colors are vibrant on the leaves, and it’s lovely for nature walks outside. While it’s stormy weather for layers of warmth outdoors, you can craft, sew costumes, and make art inside, do some cooking for warm hearty soups, and even try baking pastries in the oven! Let’s do all the things this autumn! I know that was a long list of things to do, but I always get pumped full of ideas of things to do in the fall.
The wonderful art students at Franklin Academy are starting new art projects, so as soon as they are ready, I’ll be sharing photos online. This Halloween will be one to remember, since the school allows all celebrations of holidays, like costumes, decorating, and there’s a fall festival dance coming up. I’m thrilled, because it means I get to dress up in a new costume for my art classes! Any guesses? There’s also some great art events happening this October & November for all ages to enjoy, so be sure to read more of the newsletter to find out. Everyone is welcome to the next Bellingham Downtown Art Walk to find me and other studio artists, on Friday, November 1st, between 6-9pm, located at the Imagine It Now studio, 301 W Holly Street, D-5 (downstairs), Bellingham, WA 98225. We are also open Monday-Friday 1-6pm for guests (weekends by appointment), and open for the monthly Bham Downtown Art Walk.

Heliotrope Art ‘Xtravaganza - 40th Anniversary for Allied Arts!
October 13th is when the Allied Arts of Whatcom County’s 40th Anniversary party called the Art ‘Xtravaganza at the Heliotrope hotel! They are wonderful to be hosting as our venue for the big art event - Art ‘Xtravaganza, and it will include all of the arts in all forms, such as music, performers, visual art, poets, art shows, games, art installation, kids art activities, food trucks, and a beer garden! I will be working on an exciting art installation room with the famous artist, Kevin Forrester Coleman.
We will have a glowing, (can we say black light party?), bright, vivid room full of art! Some art will be for sale, and some that are just made for this exciting art event! Come and see our space at the Art ‘Xtravaganza!

Fairhaven Art Walk – Nov. 22nd!
You are invited to join me again, at the next big art exhibit for my marine-life paintings, showing at the Blessings Salon Spa at 1112 11th St # 201, Bellingham, WA, as a part of the Fairhaven Art Walk on Friday, November 22nd between 6-8pm. This will be my final time showing art in the old Fairhaven district of Bellingham, and at a business that supports local artists, and a part of the Fairhaven Art Walk. Join me for some great conversation, snacks, and enjoy the old district with some art!

Holiday Ornaments in Clay, November 16th, 10:00am – 1:30pm
Break out your creativity and have fun making a set of 4-6 holiday ornaments in this ceramic workshop! Learn how to use molds to make shapes such as stars and hearts, or learn how to create your own shape out of clay, applying underglaze to add a dash of color and shine. Your ornaments will be stained and fired in the kiln, ready for pickup November 25--just in time for the winter holidays and decorations or handmade gifts. Please bring sketch paper, pencil, eraser, and a ruler to class. All other materials included.
Ages 10 and up are welcome to register with an adult.

Art Education & More!
In addition, I teach art education K-12 at a few different elementary schools, in Whatcom County and the Bellingham School District as an independent contractor (after school arts enrichment programs each quarter), as well as summer art camps, private art lessons, parties/events, museums/galleries, and as a Teaching Artist with Allied Arts of Whatcom County. This non-profit is one that brings the arts to many kids throughout the schools, and I’m so thankful I can be a part of it and this community.
