“We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.” Bob Ross

We’ve welcomed the new year of 2018 and have hope for what our future brings.  Could it be a year of creating, self-care, growth, and learning? If you want to reach out and learn new things about being a part of art, or how to be a better you as a result of being more creative, then all of this applies. The winter quarter classes are about to begin, or have already started for some of us. The month of our coldest weather is here, so bundle up and be warm.

Kids Art!

Those of you who have children who love to make art with me, I’ll be teaching kids art classes this winter at Carl Cozier and Silver Beach elementary in their after school enrichment programs via BAAY EduArts, starting on the last week of the month. It will include some mixed-media, clay, painting, and drawing. I’m also a guest art teacher partnering with another teacher at Kulshan middle school for the winter with a program through Allied Arts of Whatcom County and WWU. There, we’ll be working together to help integrate ceramic tiles in art similar to low and high relief art from Greece.
If you’re interested in learning more about the BAAY EduArts program for kids art classes, or want to see if your school participates, feel free to contact BAAY at (you can also ask your school to see if they participate), http://www.baay.org/

Whatcom Community College Art Winter Classes!

You should check out some of the community art education classes that I’ll be teaching at WCC this winter! There’s an exciting ceramic hand-building class on garden planters, and one that’s a treasure box full of mixed-media painting of the sea. I’ve always been a big fan of both our green plants in nature and life from the ocean. Both of these classes give you a chance to explore how you can make something beautiful that you will cherish. Details of each class and links for registration are below:
