Whatcom Community College Art Winter Classes!
Dates: February 27th – March 16th , Tuesdays, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Class Description: Learn how to transform a blank canvas into a creative work of art showcasing the beauty and treasures of the sea! Instructor Rachel Simpson will teach you valuable painting and mixed-media techniques, including how to create effects such as antiquing, apply texture and layers, and add found objects to your painting. You will take home your very own painting and learn the skills to create even more. Previous art experience is not necessary. Ages 15 and up are welcome to join.

Date: February 24th, 10:00am – 1:00pm. Class Description: Add a homemade touch to your garden or outdoor patio this year with your very own terra cotta planter or pottery wall vase. Artist Rachel Simpson will guide you as you design and create a planter or wall vase out of clay, learning basic hand building skills as you go. Rachel invites all skill levels, including beginners and teens ages 12 and up with a parent, to register. All materials are included in class fee. Finished products will be available for pick up by March 9.
