“Since I fell in love with you everything is transformed and is full of beauty . . . love is like an aroma, like a current, like rain. You know, my sky, you rain on me and I, like the earth, receive you.” Frida Kahlo

In the month of February, I find when the days are getting longer with light, it gives me pause to relfect, share love, and give myself time to dream of the beginning of spring that’s around the corner. If you live in the PNW, you know how long the winter days can be, and to welcome back the sun. When times are a struggle, I look for ways I can be refreshed with stories, music, writing, being with loved ones, and do creative things to help recharge.

If you’re in the mood to enjoy the theme of love, and see how other artists show the meaning of love in visual arts, then you can go visit the ‘All You Need Is Love’ exhibit at the Gallery Syre, between Feb.11th-Ap.15th, and check out a variety of the best local and national artists (45 artists), they’ve chosen on their first juried art exhibit. If you guessed right, I am one of those selected to be at the art show! You can see my piece called ‘Love Through The Ashes’ here as an example of my latest piece in this newsletter, but as we all know, it’s best to see art in person, for the real effect. You can find me there for the art exhibit opening this Saturday, Feb. 11th, 6-8pm.
