Rachel's Whimsical Art Newsletter for August
Summertime is here! I hope that everyone is able to enjoy it this August with their families, and loved ones. I’ve been taking more quiet moments, time to reflect, enjoy nature, travels, and sharing them with loved ones. How can you not enjoy yourself, when you have some free time and vacations like camping?
Reminder: August 9th, I’ve an adult painting class, Paint from the HeART, at the Museum of Northwest Art (MoNA), in La Conner, WA. You can take a peak on my website for classes, and for this registration you’ll want to contact MoNA: http://www.monamuseum.org/
Business Art Skill Share is in August!
“Business Art Skill Share is a series of arts related workshops, classes, and presentations focused on providing aspiring and low income artists with knowledge, skills, and opportunities. Established artists and art administrators will teach participants how to market their art, use social media for promotion, find funding, create portfolios, frame pieces, set up gallery exhibits, and more. The goal is to give participants the opportunity to take what they’ve learned and exhibit their work through our Creative Spaces Program after taking classes.
August 24, Allied Arts Education Program teaching artist Rachel Simpson will be teaching a class on art exhibit and installation set up. Participants will learn how to plan exhibits, market themselves, and set up an exhibit or installation in a gallery space. Rachel Simpson’s class will be held at the Allied Arts of Whatcom County’s Gallery at 10 am.” , Allied Arts of Whatcom County
A list of all the class sessions and more information is found here: http://www.alliedarts.org/business-art-skill-share/

BAAY EduArts this Fall
There will be more kid’s art projects beginning this fall session for the new school year, and at various elementary schools in Bellingham. I’m looking forward to seeing both new and familiar kid’s faces at the future fall art classes. If you’re interested in learning more about the EduArts program, art classes, or want to see if your school participates, feel free to contact http://www.baay.org/
Thank you for all your enthusiasm for The Arts and keeping it alive within our community!
