It’s springtime and this means there’s all kinds of fun art, community events, music, dance, and the Allied Art’s annual Children’s Art Walk that’s currently on display in many business windows in downtown Bellingham until end of May. There’s really so much to enjoy this time of year in our area, that fills me with joy. I hope you and your family get to go out to enjoy all the sights and fun activities happening.

In Mount Vernon, I’m a guest artrist with artwork at an event, and included in the LMinspired Pop-Up ART Show, between now and the end of June. Also, on June 13th, the FABstudios will host a big Art Event for the community. There’s so many beautiful pieces of art, jewelry, wood, stained-glass, & more!

If you’re a Teacher, a Parent, or Community member who loves and supports the Teaching Artists as a classroom guest art teacher with Allied Arts of Whatcom County, & our local events like the Children’s Art Walk, the annual Holiday Festival of the Arts, and the Arts Thrift Store in the back of the Gallery, then you’re invited to our Community Round Table Event:Invitation: Allied Arts is bringing together artists, educators, partners, and civic leaders to have an honest, forward-looking conversation about where the arts are right now—and where they should be headed in Whatcom County. Your perspective is an important part of that.
These will be small, facilitated conversations (capped at 80 participants) designed to listen, share, and gather real input that will help shape Allied Arts’ role in the local arts ecosystem moving forward.

Booty-Licious Body Positive Art Class!
This is a body positive adult women’s Booty-Licious Art Workshop taught by Ms Rachel and Mrs Semilla of an exciting body positive painting art class. Celebrate yourself with this Paint-Your-Booty-or-Chest onto a 3' x 4' canvas to take home. Get ready to enjoy the sensation of painting your body with affirmations, music, and within a group of women in a safe place. This fun process of printing either your front or backside onto the canvas with others, and enjoy a positive body expression into visual art. You will take home your finished art the same day. All skill levels can make this, and all art supplies will be provided.

After-School Arts in Bellingham Schools!
Spring session has already started in the after-school arts at a few local elementary schools. I plan to return to teaching in the fall, along with two othr Teaching Artists. You can find myself or one of my co-teachers (Mrs Semilla Sanchez and Quaniqua Williams) at a few locations in after-school enrichment art, Also, I’m a Teaching Artist with Allied Arts of Whatcom County and with MoNA in Skagit Valley. Find more about my work with Rachel’s Whimsical Arts, as a guest Art Educator at Gallery’s, Museums, Café’s, and in after school arts enrichment at a few local elementary schools: Carl Cozier, Silver Beach, Columbia, Geneva, Lowell, and Sunnyland. If your child attends one of these schools, you can ask your PTA enrichment program and/or go to 6Crickets then selecting your school.
